The Hotel San Francesco is rich in history; founded as a convent in 1557 it has been carefully restored and offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Naples.
The harbour is within walking distance of the hotel, whilst Capodichino Airport is only 10 km away. In fact, the hotel is well-connected to the entire city by cable cars.
The convent has a long and fascinating history. It began from a poor monk of the Frati Minori Conventuali order, Brother Agostino da Miglionico, who built a little cell deep inside the mountain that was later transformed, with the help of Fra Girolamo da S. Agata, into a comfortable little convent.
Today, the antique convent has been restructured while maintaining its historic and artistic value, and has become the elegant and accommodating Hotel San Francesco al Monte. The charm of the ambience remains intact, and every detail has been restored to its old splendor.
The swimming pool is open from 15 May 2008 until 15 September 2008, from 09:00 until 17:30.

By Car:
- The motorways lead to the Tangenziale toll way.
- Exit at Arenella and continue towards Piazza Mazzini and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
By Train:
Mergellina station is 4 km from the hotel. Piazza Garibaldi station is 7 km away. The central Funiculare station, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, is just 300 metres from the hotel.
